개요

희토류 원소는 주기율표의 17개 화학 원소의 통칭이다.[1] 이들을 묶어 희토류로 통칭하는 이유는 서로 화학적 성질이 유사하고 광물 속에 그룹으로 함께 존재하기 때문이다.


종류

원소주기율표[2]에서 2개의 Group 3 원소[3]와 원자번호 57 부터 71 까지 15개의 란타니드 원소[4] 등 17개 원소가 희토류 원소이다.

  • 2 Group 3 elements : scandium (Sc), yttrium (Y)
  • 15 lanthanide elements : lanthanum (La), cerium (Ce), praseodymium (Pr), neodymium (Nd), promethium (Pm), samarium (Sm), europium (Eu), gadolinium (Gd), terbium (Tb), dysprosium (Dy), holmium (Ho), erbium (Er), thulium (Tm), ytterbium (Yb), lutetium (Lu)
