구 소련의 최고 지도자 니키타 흐루쇼프 (Nikita Khrushchev)가 1959년 9월 23일 미국 아이오와의 디모인(Des Moines, Iowa)을 방문했을 때 그를 보러 나온 군중들 속에 "착한 빨갱이는 죽은 빨갱이 뿐이다(The only good communist is a dead one.)"이라 쓴 팻말이 등장했다.

개요

착짱죽짱은 "착한 짱깨는 죽은 짱깨 뿐이다"를 줄인 말이다.[1] 착홍죽홍처럼 다른 경우에도 응용된다.

유래

이런 조어의 단초는 조지 오웰(George Orwell)의 1945년 소설 동물농장(Animal Farm)에 나오는 돼지 스노볼(Snowball)[2]의 대사 "유일하게 좋은 인간은 죽은 인간이다. (The only good human being is a dead one.)"으로 보인다.[3]


스탈린 사망 후 구 소련의 최고 지도자가 된 니키타 흐루쇼프 (Nikita Khrushchev)[4]가 1959년 9월 23일 미국 아이오와의 디모인(Des Moines, Iowa)을 방문했을 때 그를 보러 나온 군중들 속에 "착한 빨갱이는 죽은 빨갱이 뿐이다(The only good communist is a dead one.)"이라 쓴 팻말이 등장했다.[5][6] 이후 이 말이 유행하기도 했다.
